By public transport

Don’t have a car to get around, or prefer to leave it behind while you’re on holiday?

Here are a few ideas for discovering the Basin in a different way.

By Train

The train is a great way to get around the Sud Bassin, thanks to the TER Bordeaux Arcachon line. Our commune is fortunate to have 2 stations: Gujan-Mestras (main station) and La Hume.

Getting there is quick and easy: La Hume / Arcachon in 8 minutes on the TER with a €1 Baïa ticket (€2 in summer), on sale at the Tourist Office.

From Bordeaux: around 60 return journeys a day by TER or TGV.

Journey time: between 40 and 45 minutes

From Paris: direct line Paris-Arcachon with the TGV INOUI

Journey time: less than 3 hours

By bus

By bus Baïa

Baïa is the transport network for the Sud Bassin, covering Arcachon, La Teste-de-Buch, Gujan-Mestras and Le Teich. Numerous lines serve the resort and all the communes of the Sud Bassin, allowing access to tourist sites and beaches without a car.

A Night Transport on Demand service (TAD Nuit) is available all year round from Monday to Sunday from 7pm to 11.30pm, and on Saturdays and every day in July and August from 7pm to 3am. It runs from stop to stop in Arcachon, La Teste-de-Buch, Gujan-Mestras and Le Teich, and costs €2.50 per journey.

In summer, travel from one end of Arcachon to the other by boat! The sea bus takes you from the Petit Port d’Arcachon to the Moulleau jetty, via the Thiers jetty, for just €2 a trip!
