Beach and surveillance

In the heart of the tourist district of La Hume, and right next to the marina, this beach is above all family-friendly.

Bordered by tamarisk and pine trees, the beach offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Bay of Arcachon.

With the rhythm of the tides, enjoy a variety of activities: swimming, relaxing on the sand, fishing, walking… Take advantage of the facilities available: play areas, picnic areas, beach restaurant in season, paddles for hire…

The beach is supervised from 9.30am to 7pm in July and August, so children and adults alike can swim in complete safety.

La Hume beach is also a well-known spot for kite surfing. Spectacle guaranteed!

A labelled beach

La Hume beach has had the ” Handiplage level 2 ” label since 2008, and offers the following facilities and services for people with reduced mobility:

Reserved parking space
Wheelchair access from the car park to the bathing area
Provision of a ” tiralo ” for walking on the sand and swimming
Disabled toilet facilities less than 100 metres away
Accessible shower with flexible hose
Assistance for people with reduced mobility: Handiplagiste, in July and August.

La Hume beach in a different way

There’s plenty of sport on offer at La Hume beach.

From spring onwards, come and try your hand at paddle boarding with Paddle Glisse. From the beach, take to the water and find your balance on this large board – it’s up to you!

During the summer, sea kayaking trips are offered by the Tourist Office. Take a trip along the coastline of Gujan or Testin to discover the typical landscapes of the Bay of Arcachon.

And don’t forget kite surfing! Part of the beach is dedicated to this sensational sport, which is available all year round. If you’re looking for a thrill in the air, this is the activity for you.

For the less adventurous, take a trip out to sea with our boat trips departing from the port of La Hume. Choice, smiles and fun!
