He's a daddy's boy industrialist, Alicia is a wealthy aristocrat and a hayseed. All could be well, they're among people of the world (even if not necessarily the same one) if Alicia hadn't become infatuated with a spiritual coach, a guru on the side, who accompanies them to dinner.
